The myth that stops women from investing in themselves

Today I unpack one of the biggest myths I see keeping women stuck when it comes to investing, building wealth, and creating meaningful change in their lives.

It's a belief that quietly causes women to:

• Put off learning to invest until "the timing feels better."

• Walk away from goals the moment they become challenging.

• Keep waiting for confidence before taking action.

• Look back years later wishing they had started sooner.

The myth sounds something like this:

"If it's this hard, maybe it just isn't meant for me."

It also shows up in a more subtle way:

"When it feels easy and everything flows, that's how I'll know I'm on the right path."

At first, these sound like opposite beliefs. But they're actually saying the same thing.

Both assume that difficulty is a sign to stop.

What if it isn't?

What if the discomfort you're feeling while learning about investing isn't evidence that you're incapable?

What if it's simply the feeling of growing into a part of yourself that has never been developed before?

Think about opening your investment account for the first time.

Think about learning a language that once felt intimidating.

Think about staying invested when the market feels uncertain instead of reacting emotionally.

Think about finally having conversations about money that you've avoided for years.

Almost anything that creates long term freedom asks something of us before it gives something back.

That doesn't mean we stay in situations that are unhealthy or ignore our intuition.

But it does mean we can stop treating every obstacle as evidence that we've chosen the wrong dream.

Sometimes the very thing we're resisting is developing the patience, resilience, emotional regulation, and long term thinking that financial freedom requires.

If you want to take your place as the Queen of your own life, remember this:

Hardship is not always a detour.

Sometimes it is part of the path.

A journaling reflection

Write down one financial goal you truly want to create.

Maybe it's to be financially free by a certain age.

Maybe it's more revenue.

Maybe it’s building a business.

Maybe it's becoming financially empowered and learning to invest.

Now write down every reason you've been telling yourself it's too hard, taking too long, or simply not meant to be.

When you're finished, tear out the page and rip it into pieces.

On a fresh page, write the same goal again.

This time, write down every reason you're willing to keep showing up anyway.

Not because the path is easy.

Because the woman you're becoming is worth it.
